Professor Boris Zubry
Professor Boris Zubry, MSME, MBA, is the inventor and developer of the patented plungerless Magnetic Injection Storage Technology (MIST™) that will be the first product launched by Avicenna Therapeutic Technologies, LLC. As an engineering and education professional, he has extensive experience in Management, Capital Projects, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance and Training in the Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, Processing and Packaging Machinery, and the Food Industries. He was the Project director for multiple projects in Eastern Europe and the Middle East (Boris is fluent in a couple of languages) for Italcom and CAM dealing with vendors and suppliers while managing budgets and supervising projects and personnel in sales offices in Poland, Russia and Ukraine. Boris has additional considerable work experience with large Pharmaceutical firms such as Merck, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Johnson and Johnson and Alza Corp as plant engineer, engineering and project manager.
In addition, Boris has extensive knowledge and work experience as manager of manufacturing engineering, and manager of packaging engineering for Barnes-Hind, SPIMACO (Saudi Arabia), L’Oreal USA, GAF Materials, and West Pharmaceutical Services. He is experienced in project initiation and development, budget control and management, and vendor/supplier management. Boris has extensive patent experience and has been involved in multiple patent filings over his long professional career. Over the last 10 years he has been an Assistant Professor of Math, Physics, GMP/cGMP, Green manufacturing, Quality Control, Nanotechnology and Information Technology at Community College of Philadelphia, Rutgers University, Mercer County College and Rider University amongst others.

Mr. John Ervin, RN, BSN, MBA, CPC, is a doctoral candidate at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. His research focuses on strategic leadership with a focus on systems and design thinking. He is an experienced nurse executive that has led surgical services departments in local hospitals, large academic medical institutions, and ambulatory care centers. John’s leadership training began while serving in the U.S. Military as a non-commissioned officer and then as an Army Nurse Corps Officer. His success as a healthcare leader has been augmented through many benchmarking experiences including the airline industry, the Department of Homeland Security, insurance and financial services, and the medical device industries.
John’s experience includes: Surgical and Operating Room Technologist, Walter Reed Army Healthcare System; Sales Associate, Depuy Orthopedics; Clinical Specialist, Endoscopic Technologies; Operating Room leadership positions at Hahnemann University Hospital, Kennedy Health System, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Vanguard Health Systems and the Healthcare Corporation of America’s Ambulatory Surgery Division.

Julio Martinez-Clark
Mr. Martinez-Clark, BSEE, MBA, has worked with startup medical device companies for over 10 years helping them design and operationalize successful clinical trial, regulatory and market access strategies. Mr. Martinez-Clark is a recognized medical device expert and his insights on the medical device industry have been featured on industry-leading publications such as Med Device Online and Clinical Leader, and he is the host of the LATAM Medtech Leaders podcast. Prior to that, Mr. Martinez-Clark worked at the Johns Hopkins Hospital as a technology consultant assigned to a project to improve the healthcare system in Trinidad & Tobago. Prior to that, Mr. Martinez-Clark was the co-founder and president of a successful real estate investment firm in Orlando, FL and initiated other ventures in the telecom and computer industries. Preceding that, Mr. Martinez-Clark worked for global telecom and networking companies including Lucent and Nortel where he managed distributors in Latin America and worked as a networking engineer and consultant. Mr. Martinez-Clark has a bachelor's degree in electronics engineering from Saint Thomas University in Bogota, Colombia, and a master's degree in business administration (M.B.A.) from Western New England University in Springfield, MA. Mr. Martinez-Clark is based in Orlando, FL.
Mr. Liviu Barbu, MSME, is a professional CAD designer with expertise in 3D modeling and animation. Mr. Barbu holds a Master’ Degree in Automotive Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) from Polytechnic University of Bucharest. Romania. Liviu is a freelancer for various companies in the US, Europe and Asia providing CAD designs for manufacturing (mold injection optimization, CNC machining), mechanical modeling, product design, rendering and animation for medical, automotive and military industries.
Liviu Barbu
Gail Comer, MD, is a Board-certified gastroenterologist/hepatologist with a strong medical background of 14 years in academic medicine and nearly 20 years of industry experience in clinical research. She conducted clinical studies for all phases of development Dr. Comer’s experience includes supporting business activities in a medical affairs role as well as in evaluating possible in-licensing candidates. Dr. Comer has held leadership positions in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies large and small, as well as contributed to academic medicine endeavors, including serving as: Chief Medical Officer (Synergy Pharmaceuticals); Senor Director, Inflammation, Biotherapeutics; Worldwide Research & Development (Pfizer); Senor Director, Inflammation, Biotherapeutics; Worldwide Research & Development (Wyeth); Senior Medical Director, Inflammation/Internal Medicine (Wyeth), Medical Director (Abbott Nutritionals); Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine (S.U.N.Y.) and Assistant Professor (Columbia University Harlem Hospital).
Mr. Konstantin (Konny) Caploon, Esq., BSME, MSBME, JD, is a highly accomplished attorney with outside and in-house experience. In-house roles have included being general counsel for a division of a global medical device company, as well as intellectual property counsel responsible for managing the IP of three divisions of the same company. Outside roles have included providing guidance to various sized companies as well as individuals. Konny has expertise in intellectual property law, and significant experience in numerous other areas including business strategy; budgeting; due diligence; licensing and acquisition; risk management; dispute resolution; litigation; healthcare compliance; HIPAA privacy and security; FDA regulatory issues; sales and marketing issues; employment matters; internal investigations; and numerous transactional matters including product development, confidentiality, consulting, research, sales and distribution agreements. Konny is also an inventor of 6 patents, with additional applications pending.
